Daycare Cleaning in Toronto

Children touch everything, share everything and put most of it in their mouths. We clean daycares, nurseries, early learning centres and before-and-after school programs every evening with child-safe products, so every room is fresh and hygienic when the first family arrives.

Serving Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Vaughan, Thornhill, Markham and the rest of the GTA.

Cleaning for the youngest, most vulnerable clients

A daycare is one of the hardest places to keep clean and one of the most important. Young children have developing immune systems, spend time on the floor, share toys and touch every surface at their height. Coughs and stomach bugs move through a room quickly. Parents notice the smell of a washroom and the state of a play area the moment they walk in, and so do inspectors.

MC Services cleans licensed child care centres, home-based daycares, nurseries, Montessori schools, early learning centres and before-and-after school programs across Toronto and the GTA. We clean in the evening after the children have gone, follow a written checklist built around your centre’s routines and your public health unit’s guidance, and use products that are safe for spaces where children play. Our team is insured and covered by WSIB.

What we clean every visit

  • Play and activity rooms: tables, chairs, shelves, cubbies and window sills cleaned; high-touch points such as door handles, light switches and railings disinfected; floors vacuumed and mopped
  • Toys and equipment: hard toys, play kitchens, climbing equipment and activity tables cleaned and sanitized to your centre’s schedule, then rinsed where the product requires it
  • Nap rooms: surfaces dusted, floors cleaned, cots wiped down; bedding handled the way your centre directs
  • Washrooms and diaper areas: toilets, child-height sinks, change tables, potties, dispensers and floors cleaned and disinfected; consumables restocked
  • Kitchens and eating areas: counters, tables, high chairs, sinks and appliance fronts cleaned; floors under tables done carefully
  • Entrance and cubby area: glass doors, sign-in counters, benches and boot trays cleaned; salt and slush cleared from floors in winter
  • Staff room and office: desks, kitchen and washroom
  • Garbage and diaper waste removed and bins cleaned

Child-safe products and methods

The products that are fine in an office are not always right for a room full of toddlers. We use low-odour and fragrance-free products where possible, follow every label for dilution and contact time, and rinse food-contact surfaces and toys where the product requires it. Products are stored in our caddies and never left in a room. We use colour-coded cloths so washroom cloths never touch tables or toys, and separate mop heads for washrooms and play areas.

If your centre already uses specific products approved by your licensing advisor or public health unit, we can use them instead.

Working with your routines and inspections

Licensed child care in Ontario is inspected, and public health units also check sanitation. We build the checklist around your centre’s written cleaning schedule, so the evening clean and your staff’s daytime cleaning fit together: your staff handle cleaning between activities and after meals, and we handle the full clean and disinfection after hours. We can keep a simple cleaning log for each evening, so you have a record ready for your own files.

During cold and flu season or an outbreak, we can increase the frequency of touchpoint disinfection and follow any extra steps your public health unit asks for.

Scheduling

Most daycares are cleaned every weekday evening after the last pickup, with a monthly deep clean of floors, windows, vents, high dusting and fabric furniture. Some smaller centres choose three evenings a week plus staff cleaning on the other days. We agree the keys, alarm codes and lock-up routine during setup, and keep the same crew on your site wherever possible, which matters when people are entering a space used by children.

Seasonal deep cleans

The quietest times of year, such as the winter holidays, March break and the summer, are the best time for a deep clean: carpets and play mats, windows, light fixtures, vents, behind and under furniture, and a full reset of storage areas. See deep cleaning and carpet and upholstery cleaning. After renovations or expansions, our post-construction cleaning removes the fine dust before children return.

What daycare cleaning costs

Daycare cleaning is quoted per visit or per month after a free site visit, based on the size of the centre, the number of rooms and washrooms, the number of evenings per week and the periodic tasks. Our labour rate is $35–$40 per hour, and we show you the expected hours so you can see how the quote is built. Call or WhatsApp 647-921-1060 to book a site visit.

Tips for keeping a daycare cleaner between visits

  • Keep a “mouthed toys” bin in each room, so toys that go in a mouth are set aside for cleaning.
  • Put washable covers on soft furniture and wash them weekly.
  • Use boot trays and two mats at the entrance in winter to trap salt and slush.
  • Wipe tables before and after every meal and snack.
  • Keep cleaning products locked away from children at all times.
